I had bought a new rice cooker because the rice would turn out slimy even after rinsing. When the new cooker did the exact same thing, this little item appeared in my Amazon recommendations. Since it wasn't too expensive, I thought it was worth a try. I am happy I bought it because my rice cooker was not the issue, the rinsing was. It is basically a strainer, but with holes only on the bottom and one side. Who knew that could make all the difference!?! I am glad I purchased this inexpensive little kitchen necessity. If you eat rice, you will be glad you purchased this
